Release

For the past yearish Vico has been serving as second counselor in a BYU singles' ward. It has been way fun! I have loved watching Vico in this position--seeing his kindness, funniness, shyness, strength and love. He is a good teacher and awesome people person. I have also enjoyed the people in the ward. They are really fun. In addition to being fun they have helped us so much. When baby Lucy was born the sisters in the Relief Society brought us dinner for two weeks and for three weeks they took turns coming to our apartment and helping me with Lucy--watched her while I napped, went to doctors' appointments with me, etc. They also cleaned our apartment and gave me friendship and love. This is something that I will always cherish and never forget.
I want Vico to know how much I love him. He is my dearest friend and a wonderful companion. I am proud of him and the growth I have seen in him as a leader and will miss all of the loving looks and smiles we exchanged as he sat in the front during Sacrament meeting. It has been awesome sharing this experience together and now we are on to a new adventure. I feel like the couple in "Up." Everything's better when we're together. :)

  1. Except now you get to hold hands during sacrament meeting instead. Will I ever have that again?!

Love you guys. Vico, you did great (I was there! I saw it!) And you did too, Rachel. Lucky ward to get to have a little baby in it for a while.

  2. Oh my gosh Rachel! You are so lucky to be in the singles ward at such a time! All those baby hungrey, BFF, single ladies to help out.... no WONDER you had 3 weeks of happy helpers. I got like 6 days of meals but had no family around when I brought Chloe home, and I thought I had it really good. Most Relief Societies around here give maybe 3 days of meals for a baby. You had it unnaturally good.
P.S. your little Lucy is a little dolly!!

  3. I never got to visit your singles ward and see how much Vico must have been a wonderful influence there - but - I can imagine it and I know whatever he does, Vico will give it his best effort, with all of his heart. Love you both, glad that you can sit together again :)
